It would not be possible to identify any single experience that has lead to my love of science and to my strong desire to study computer system design. Since an early age numerous small events have played an important role in igniting my passion for mathematics and science. As with any gift, once I discovered this aptitude, I found that I was driven to excel in these areas. Throughout elementary school I found mathematics, for example to come naturally, even enjoyably. The thought that mathematics should be struggled with never even crossed my mind. When working with math, I never felt like I was actually working. I recall being the math bee champion three years in a row, and how proud that made my parents and me. I never considered it schoolwork or hard work, but something of a game to me; which I loved then as I do today. My attitude towards the sciences has always been quite similar. For example, when the school science fair came around, I was fascinated by it, and anxious to get started. I always began my projects months in advance and would always complete them far ahead of the deadlines. It was never necessary for anyone to tell me to do my schoolwork; my discipline and determination to do well in school was all the motivation I would ever need.
