In the poem Beowolf, the hero encounters three monsters. These monsters share three similar qualities. For example, Grendal, Grendals mom, and the dragon seek out revenge and use their lethal powers to kill innocent Geats and Daines. Furthermore, each monster is miraculous about who and how many people it kills. Each of the monsters Beowolf faces is a ferocious killing machine. The first monster Beowolf encounters is Grendal. Like the other two monsters Grendal shares the same characteristics. Grendal is an angry monster. He gets dangerously angry when the Daines sing about God.
