I, Lucy Elizabeth, am a woman who struggled most of my life to find a good man as well as to create a good man. My view of a good man is hard to fill. Very few men have ever fallen into this category. My father had been a good man as were a couple of my brothers. This was an elite few. Russell’s father, my first husband had been a good man as well as my second husband Herb. I desperately wanted my son, Russell, to make something of himself and to become a good man. I spent considerable time with Russell molding him into a “good man.” What would qualify somebody to be a good man? One of the first guidelines would be that a good man doesn’t drink alcohol. A man can’t possibly provide for his family when he is drunk and missing work.
