... One story that I know well and was told as a child was “Jack and the Beanstalk.” “Jack and the Beanstalk” is a story that I can relate to. ... Once upon a time, lived a poor widow with an only son named Jack who was too young to work. ... One morning the cow didn’t give any milk and Jack decided to sell it. ... The next morning Jack woke up and there outside his window was a beanstalk that reached above the sky and Jack was curious what was up there, therefore he climbed the beanstalk to the top and appeared in a whole other land and place. Jack at first met a fairy that knew him surprisingly very well and told him that in the castle down the road lives a giant and whatever the giant has is Jack’s. So Jack walks to the castle and there is a giantess who is the giant’s wife and Jack asked for some breakfast.
