The account was described as follows: “Then he took them with him and they withdrew by themselves to a town called Bethsaida, but the crowds learned about it and followed him. ...
Bethsaida is a city located on the eastern bank of the Jordan River, north of the Sea of Galilee. ... The Romans destroyed Bethsaida during the First Jewish Revolt and the town was lost until excavations began in 1987. ... In 2003 two archaeologists plan to expose more of Bethsaida.
