The first day I walk into the building of my first job after I left the Air Force was an eye opening experience. Walking through the door, being ex-military and now working as a contractor for the military, I was greeted with an array of questions for my reasons for getting out. In trying to explain it as simple career change, most just nodded as if to say, “If you say so!” I explained to them that I had no reason to alter my reasoning for them. As I met most of the people, I noticed I was the youngest person working in the office. In fact, the next youngest to my twenty six years of age was thirty one. As the morning grew old, it seemed as if the questions of why I got out of the military turned to questions of my experience level. Being younger then most of them, they seemed leery of my ability to handle the job. I was hired on as the head system administrator and had three military members working under me.
