     Combining the ageless appeal of a Bible story with truly spectacular visuals, The Prince of Egypt is an entry into our life from the DreamWorks Studio. ... This film allows us to indulge in visual whimsy that is endlessly appealing, such as in the architecture of the Egyptian empire or in a segment involving dancing hieroglyphs or in a sequence that shows the journey the infant Moses makes in his basket, continuously encountering dangers and then miraculously escaping peril. Other than allowing us to take a glimpse at an Old Testament story, The Prince of Egypt also allows us to view the accuracy of such a story. With such a vivid backdrop, simply looking at the architecture alone can give us much insight into what the director’s intentions where in creating an accurate portrayal of Ancient Egypt. The architecture in The Prince of Egypt is respectively accurate, but there are definitely some distinct differences that were placed in the movie for showmanship in the film industry. ... The monuments and statues, although holding the overall look of Egyptian architecture, are changed drastically to fit the artistic licenses of the movie creators.
Probably the most remarkable difference in the architecture from the movie and real life is the overall layout of the city in which the story begins. ... This, to me, is the most striking comparison between the architecture found in real life and that of which we can view in The Prince of Egypt. ... The north-south axis of the hall provides views which reveal not only the immensity but also the practicality of the architecture. ...
Even though many of the architecture found in this film bares great resembles, in appearance, to that of actual Egyptian Architecture the sheer appearance of all of these landmarks together in one colossal city is to hard to believe. ... The film makers and artist do and amazing job of depicting this characteristic of Egyptian architecture in their city. ... We can see clearly that the writers of The Prince of Egypt try to depict the basic nature of ancient Egyptian architecture, but have an obligation to over exaggerate to sell their film.
