To me, the term Organizational Behavior sounds like saying human psychology, something I find interesting but at the same time rather obtuse. I’m not sure I like the idea of categorizing human behavior for the purpose of trying to understand it. I guess in a way that is exactly what OB is. According to the book, “Organizational Behavior is a field of study that investigates the impact individuals, groups, and structure have on behavior within organizations for the purpose of applying such knowledge towards improving an organization’s effectiveness.” (Robbins, 2001) If you stop to think about that definition a minute, it becomes rather trivial.
