The election of 1932 is important because American people are moderate and they don't like radicals. People started suggesting that the Constitution failed and that we should change it. Huey Long has a share our wealth plan, which is 100% tax after a million dollars. This shows that we would help poor people and that we are going down a radical and communist path. Father Coughlin was a Facist. Millions of Americans supported these people. When we elected FDR, we prevented us from becoming radical, and possibly prevented a revolution. He takes radical ideas and waters them down. He probably saved capitalism. He redefined the role as president. All plans start in the White House now. He is responsible for evolution of democratic party. The party changes and now occupies minorities, union, working class, and women.
