A long road traveled: lessons learned, memories made, teachers to thank, an education achieved, a gigantic moment, no more school, the next step, time to celebrate. All these things come to mind when you think of graduation. 13 years come flooding back. Everything that comes with them: the pain, the tears, the joy, the happiness, spending time with friends, the achievements, the dread of having to get up in the morning, the excitement of the last day, summer vacation. We are now at the end of these. We are about to graduate. What will you take with you? That is only up to you. Only you can take the education, the lessons, and memories with you. Our first day of school, maybe you can remember it, maybe not. The excitement of a new place. All the new kids to play with. Maybe you were shy, or maybe you made lots of friends right away. Either way we each of us have earned many lessons throughout our time here. There are the usual school lessons. The fifty states, the constitution, watching Mr. Overman sweating it out teaching sex Ed in health class, the alphabet and arithmetic. Then there are those others that are more oriented towards life. Like accepting rejection and failure. Everyone has experienced and learned about these. Remember that you will succeed if you keep trying.
