Case Study: Internet Securities 1. a. Internet Securities fits into each category, but I think it mostly fits with Information Broker because they are providing high-value information to individuals and businesses. They deliver value and build partnerships with suppliers and customers. The information they are providing is not easily attained. Internet Securities provides information on foreign and emerging markets. This information (financial data) is valued by businesses and individuals seeking to invest over seas or in foreign markets. b. Internet Securities makes money by supplying valued financial data to businesses and individuals through monthly memberships. They also form partnerships and provide data to its partners. They also have subscription memberships. People and or businesses can sign up for memberships and be charged a certain price per month for unlimited use. c. ISS started out as receiving up-front payments then switched to a subscription/membership-based revenue module. Monthly fees ranged from $250 to $1900. The prices were offered to individual investors as well as institutional investors/firms. d. The firm, in the beginning, has not been very successful. Due to rapid growth overseas as well as domestically has led to needs for more funding. Profitability wasn’t expected until 2001. The company grew from six people in June 1995 to 120 in September 1996.
