In response to Title IX efforts to achieve gender equity in college sports, I do not think Title IX is a bad idea. Title IX is a good idea established to provide equal right of entry and opportunities for women in sports and federally funded education programs. According to a statement made by Leeds and von Allmen in, “The Economics of Sports,” on page 347, “Title IX has been the most important measure ever undertaken to promote gender equity in sports.” If you ask me Title IX it is a good idea, just one that went bad. However, it did not actually go bad it just did not have the effect that many people thought it would have as a barrier to gender discrimination.
