Race against time
Some of the most valuable lessons I have learned in life have been due to poor decisions I have made and thus suffered the consequences. ... However, I would have been better off taking my time to get to my destination. ... My parents usually told me, “Town is a fifteen minute drive; allow yourself enough time to get there. ... It was the last time I ever touched that gear shifter. ... As we pulled up at the house my dad looked at me and said, “You know, you should have given yourself enough time to get to town. ... If I had taken my time I would still have had a car to drive, still have had a job, and would not have been sore all over. ... I now plan ahead for every occasion to make sure I am never caught in another race against time.
