Lecture Report: The Fine Art Photography of Mr. Jerry Taliaferro
There’s a hidden treasure in Durham I don’t believe many people know about. ... I had the pleasure of attending an art lecture there. The lecturer was Mr. Jerry Taliaferro, an artist specializing in fine art photography. Mr. Taliaferro is a native of Brownsville, Tennessee and his exhibit, “Women of the New Tribe” opened up at the Lyda Moore Merrick Gallery in the Hayti Center on October 3, 2003. ... Based on the beautiful photographs in this exhibit, Mr. Taliaferro has truly reached his goal to depict the beauty of the African American female. To examine these photographs, exhibited in the many ways Mr. Taliaferro chose to display them, one can’t help but marvel in their beauty.
