National Lampoon’s: Van Wilder….Good movie or not? ...
College themed comedies have become a popular use in movie plots for some time now. Ever since Animal House, the so-called “college student’s bible”, many movies using amusing college jokes and situations as their themes have been created; included in these movies was Van Wilder, one of the many in the National Lampoon’s movie series. Many reviews were written pertaining to this movie before it was released. ... Both took the stand point that this movie had its good points, yet in the end it was just another teen movie that got lost with all the others dealing with the same subject matter. Also, while they both used different ways to compare the movie, the overall theories of these two reviews were the same, which was they believed the movie had many comedic parts aided by good characterization, but it wasn’t worth paying to see in the theater.
The first review, by Wadowski, opened with comparing Van Wilder with Animal House, which was the original college based comedy that began the National Lampoon movie series.
