“Auteurism was to become a major element of a very significant feedback loop from the French Nouvelle Vague to Hollywood with the emergence in the late 1960s of the New Hollywood associated with such names as Altman, Arthur Penn, Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen.” I have chosen a study on the work of Robert Altman who has been directing for sixty decades, focusing on his films Three Women (1977), The Player (1992) and Short Cuts (1993). ...
