Throughout the play, Hamlet has many mentally exhausting encounters with characters in the play such as Polonius, Gertrude, Claudius, and the ghost. They are the most relevant characters that cause Hamlet to develop various insane choices and cause him to have mental outbreaks.
In the first soliloquy Hamlet tells us of his mother’s betrayal of his father, the late King Hamlet. Hamlet speaks with such a emotion and tells us the infidelity his mother, Queen Gertrude has chosen; ruined all of nature and what was once beautiful, lie rotting:
How weary, stale flat, and unprofitable seem to me all the uses of this world!
