Endangered Fish in the Colorado River Basin
The Colorado River Basin is home to many different species of fish. Of the different species, four of them are threatened and are considered endangered species. ... There are many factors that contribute to the decrease in numbers of these particular fish. There needs to be efforts made to preserve these fish so the whole ecosystem is not disrupted.
The river basin as well as being as home to these rare fish provides water to millions of people. ... If nothing changes and these four fish continue towards extinction, the biodiversity of the entire system would lessen and the conditions would not be the same ever again.
There are fourteen native fish species in the Colorado River Basin of which four are endangered. ...
