Samuel Adams, patriot and Revolutionary statesman, was in complete opposition to the Coercive Acts and the Quebec Act, however Adams did not just make himself known by opposing to these acts in 1774, he had been contributing to the American “fight” for freedom for years previous. Adams, being a native Bostonian, took great offense when the Coercive Acts were passed, designed to punish Massachusetts in general, and Boston in particular for their resistance to parliamentary rule.
