As the largest retailer in the world, Wal-Mart keeps continuing to grow internationally. With more than 4,000 stores worldwide Wal-Mart is trying to improve their image in the international market. Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart started the company in 1921 by acquiring Franklin variety store franchise in Newport, Arkansas. At the beginning Wal-Mart discount concept stores was not an attractive idea; however, in 1950 Sam Walton added friendly service in all of his stores and it made the company grow. In addition, at the early age of Wal-Mart, they emphasized the company products as health and beauty products and it led the company to become the Supercenter stores now.
Sam Walton had planted the tradition of “people first” at every Wal-Mart Supercenter. ... Also, every day low prices guarantee has made Wal-Mart a leader in the industry and that includes well-known brand products. ... The Wal-Mart stores employees wore blue vests to make them identical, and the stores employees were helping customers as much as they can.
