In Parker Josephson’s op-ed piece “Global Warming: Much Ado About Nothing,” Josephson asserts through a series of examples and arguments that global warming is not as big of a problem as scientists and “environmental wackos” make it out to be. He explains by attacking the people who support the theory of global warming personally, and makes numerous fallacious arguments in an attempt to scare others to accepting his point of view.
Josephson often is guilty of ad hominem, attacking the opposition rather than their claim. For example when talking about the scientists who are making the claims, Josephson says “Scientists who make their living studying the global climate are trying to create a crisis atmosphere, in the hope that money for studying the so-called ‘problem’ will continue to come their way.
