After living through that tragedy, Gandhi couldn’t afford to finish his schooling and became married at the age of 13 to Kasturba, who was even younger than he (Vithalbhai 1). In 1888, Gandhi took off and headed to England where he wanted to pursue a degree in law.
While in London, Gandhi met up with several groups of people, and they believed that they were the fringe elements of English society. Gandhi was extremely attracted to these groups and continued to finish his schooling at the Inner Temple.
