This book “Talking to ducks” is a journey towards the “real me”. It includes recognizing your inner child, determining things that are important to you, finding what you are worth, changing your thoughts, understanding joy and its types, recognizing your feelings, listening to your heart, finding the universe within you, determining the soul purpose of our life and living happily ever after. The purpose of life is joy. This knowledge is a part of our instincts. As a child we know it and express it through every medium that is available to us. But as we grow older we learn about failure, disappointment and rejection, and we begin to fear. And then we start living in order to collect things and achievements. Our natural creativity is swallowed and in this process we forfeit ourselves and life becomes hard. We stop being ourselves and even loose the capacity to know what we really are. Thus we loose our souls and when we loose our soul we loose our joy. The loss is not irrevocable. The secret is to find our way back to our original selves – our souls. In this process of discovery “the journey forward is the journey backward” as we have to recapture our identity as a child because what can make us a valuable person today is no more than what made us a valuable child. Recapturing our soul is not so different from recovering from cancer. We suffer from soul-cancer., a lethal dis-ease. Severe changes are necessary but the problem is we resist changes, without considering that ‘if you keep on doing the things you’ve always done, you keep on getting the things you always got’. Nature demonstrates that every growth is a spiritual experience i.e. the growth of human is something that happens to us, not something that we do or control with either our mind or what our senses. What this means is that we can do no more than open ourselves up and the Universe does the rest. While we open ourselves to the universe we must remember that some things matter more than other things e.g. “People”, being with people not being in competition with them is what gives life its spice and excitement. Along with people there are moments. Life consists of little moments of compromise of joy, of embracing the primal flux. . . There is finally no substitute for love, for spiritual sharing for, commitment, for cherishing each other and that’s what matters the most. Once you have found the things important to you then ask yourself a question: what do you think you are worth? Answer this question with attributes and inner qualities rather than with accomplishments or credentials. Each one of us is a mixture of two all-embracing truths: Truth # 1 I am the dust of the earth Truth # 2 For me the universe was created We are nothing more than anyone else.
