What classifies a myth as a myth? Where do these myths come from? Who creates these characters? Is it simply the imagination of some man with a kitharas thousands and thousands of years ago? Humans seem to be always searching for a deeper meaning, or they are always looking for something else in their lives. Whether it may be for entertainment or religious purposes, curiosity leads them to seek answers in unearthly, or spiritual things. Homer initially tells the story of Odysseus to entertain an audience. What is it about these characters that so completely intrigue us listeners [readers]? He paints scenes of huge beasts battling mortals, and godly beings giving these mortals advice.
