Smoking a cigarette to most people is a personal matter, but it also affects the population that are not a tobacco users by increasing medical costs and taxes, and increases the mortality rate with second hand smoke. Kool cigarettes are one of the most popular brands of menthol cigarettes in the United States. Kool’s most recent ad campaign attracts our society’s attention with money and of course the image of being “cool,” but doesn’t focus on the fact that smoking is very serious and can actually kill you and your “cool image.” The Kool ad came out of the magazine, “Today’s Black Woman.” The background colors of this ad are blue, green, and black. The top of the page has the Kool imprint with the words “play on the house in the middle” . This indicates that Kool wants someone to gamble on them, if they win fifty-thousand dollars and a trip to Las Vegas. Spades Slam is the game that the contestants will be playing. In the middle of this ad are some playing cards with young, healthy, and attractive people on them. On the first card, which is a king of spades, is an attractive young man wearing a red leather jacket with a black t-shirt and some very expensive looking jewelry. The second card, which is a queen of spades has a young sexy woman wearing all black with a tattoo of a spade on her right arm.
