Steve Fracasso Pd. 1 Adventure awaits James, Cavaliers October 29, 2003 This particular article is about LeBron James, the phenom basketball player who skipped college and entered himself in the NBA draft at the age of 18. “King James,” as he is sometimes referred to was the number one pick in the 2003 draft. He was picked up by the local Cleveland Cavaliers. Some predicted James to be an amazing NBA star who would put up 30 points a game and be on the list with the greats such as Michael Jordan and Larry Bird. On the other hand some critics said James would not be anything in the NBA, they said he is too young and it is nothing compared to the high school games he used to dominate just one year ago. The beginning of James’ career kicks off tonight as his Cavs take on the red hot Sacramento Kings.
