Santiago

Santiago, an aged Cuban fisherman, has not caught a fish in eighty-four days and on the eighty-fifth day he caught an eighteen foot marlin. He fought to kill the fish for three days in the story of The Old Man and the Sea, written by Ernest Hemingway. The old man fights this battle for three days because he wants to be as strong as his idle Joe DiMaggio. At the end of the three day battle the old man wins this epic struggle between man and beast. Unfortunately for the man, sharks attack the dead fish tied to the boat, and all he returns with is a skeleton.
