In my opinion, choosing just one major out of all the possible fields of study is a challenging task. Everything from the people I will know a few years down the road to the way I will act and what knowledge I gain is largely going to be determined by my selection of an area of study. In order to ease my decision process I promised myself that if my major or career ever results in a situation that is too stressful or a diversion of my goals in an unsatisfactory way, I will always be able to change them. When the time came to pick majors, I procrastinated until finally a decision had to be made. Being interested in both science and computers, I knew that I would either pick one or the other as my major. Only a few years ago my favorite hobby was to write programs on my computer, but devoting a rather large portion of my life to something that I considered a tool did not appeal to me.
