The Battle of Stalingrad
The battle of Stalingrad occurred between Germany and the Soviet Union in World War 2. It was a drawn out siege in which the Germans tried to capture the city of Stalingrad on the river Volga. I will discuss, why the battle occurred, the most important points of the battle and how well the movie ‘Enemy at the Gates’ portrays the battle
This battle occurred for many reasons. ... It took the Soviets by surprised and German tanks smashed through Soviet battle lines. ... The German Sixth Army launched its drive on Stalingrad on Aug. ... The last German troops in Stalingrad surrendered on February 2.
I think ‘Enemy at the Gates’ does a fair job of portraying the battle.
