After the Sino-Japanese war, the European countries believed Japan was far too harsh on China in its weak state. Russia, France and Germany teamed together to demand Japan return the Liotung Peninsula to China. As Japan were not powerful or strong enough to take on three world powers, they surrendered the territory.
In 1904, another war was declared against Japan because of its territorial greed. Japan still needed raw materials, and an overseas empire would provide these. The constant fighting over Korea between Japan and Russia finally resulted in war on the 10th of February 1904. ... In 1905, Japan surrendered. ...
