GANGSTA RAP
Rap music has become very popular in the music industry today. There are many different forms of rap music. Without a doubt, the most controversial form of rap music is gangster rap. This form of rap is commonly associated with violence and the degradation of women. ... In this aspect even the radical forms of gangster rap, which tend to offend numerous groups, can be said to contain some form of value. ... Like most of the popular music today, there is a lack of true meaningful value in gangster rap. This form of rap uses the controversy around it to become more popular, and it is solely produced for the purpose of yielding a profit.
Gangster rap has been under attack for many years, and this is the main reason why it has become so widely known. ... These figures are so opposed to this form of rap music, that both Sen. ... Bush have attempted to impose legislation which would ban its agencies from investing in companies that have ties with the record labels that promote gangster rap. These measures have only back-fired, and in effect have drawn more attention to this form of rap. ... Following in the foot steps of this attempted legislation, other courses of action were taken against gangster rap which only added more fuel to the fire.
