How is this for a revelation? My family paid over twenty thousand dollars for unacceptable care for my grandmother. Caring for a loved one at home, as opposed to nursing home care, is less expensive, of higher quality, and favorable in terms of sanitation. A decision concerning health care should be a thoroughly thought out decision. There are several drawbacks to selecting nursing home care as opposed to providing care in the home.
One drawback to selecting nursing home care is the expense. ... Insurance companies will only pay for a limited amount of care. The insurance company paid for two months of my grandmother’s care at the nursing home. Then it was up to my family to pay for the rest of her care. My family paid a great deal of money for my grandmother’s care for ten months.
