Society has attributed long life to certain vague and mysterious "good genes." Now a study, led by an Israeli researcher, appears to have identified one of these genes - or, more specifically, a genetic mutation that may let people live into their 90s and even past 100. "Genetic mutations are usually thought to cause health problems - but this time, it appears that they could delay disease and premature deaths," says Israeli-born Barzilai, who heads the Institute for Aging Research at Yeshiva University's Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
