“Some people want to eke out every second of life- no matter how grim- and that is their right. ... ” The act of killing ones self purposely, by definition, is suicide (Woldcentral. ... Mass suicide, like the People’s Temple Cult and assisted suicide like Dr. Jack Kevorkian, aka Dr, Death, are viewed as exceptions to the notion that suicide is an act by an individual based in an intense desire to “end it all”
Mass suicide has happened for centuries. This word by definition is when three or more people kill themselves together with a common element or interest and all or most of the members go along with the suicide willingly at the same time ( Holology. ... Applewhite and his followers were involved in the worst mass suicide in America’s history. ... He also began to think about the idea of a mass suicide for his followers, which he called a “revolutionary suicide”, death as a demonstration of radical will.
