“He was atavistic, flamboyant, and impossible to ignore. A big fat man with a cigar and a $50,000 pinkie ring” (Bergreen 19).Alfonso Capone, otherwise known as Al “Scarface” Capone, was one of the leading mobster’s in the early twenties. He was known for notorious acts, such as the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, which received him global recognition for his doing. By taking over the streets of Chicago his name was put out there for the people to see the power he had acclaimed. He just had a bad boy image to him. Though Capone was notorious for his gruesome street-like acts, he was also portrayed as a helping-man throughout the community. Newspapers, magazine articles, and movies transformed Capone into a larger-than-life symbol of evil.
