Key events which led to change in the role of women
WEL – The Women’s Electoral Lobby was established in February 1972. ... They would see if women were being discriminated against at work and make a change to how it was done.
In 1979 the ACTU (Australian Council of Trade Unions were able to get women 12 months of unpaid maternity leave which means that they would still have a job when they came back after having a baby.
