What is the Problem with this Incentive Project? The estimated budget for each holiday reward chosen for this incentive project had been set too low, and there were no relevant exclusion zones in place which left the booking criteria open. This has lost the company money and it is now costing the company to run with it. The other major problem was that the client bookings were coming in very slowly, therefore so was the money. During the handover of this clients account and project to myself and after careful review, questions were raised with my colleague to establish: 1. What supplier contracts were in use? 2. What negotiated rates were available with the suppliers? 3. Costing evidence on each reward? 4. Risk management procedure? The findings were that there were very few supplier contracts in place, especially for the accommodation and holiday packages. A lot of the rates in place were too high and did not fit with the criteria of the incentive (e.g. date range too short). There were very few costing details available or reference to where they arrived from for any that were in place.
