I Do Marriage, in my opinion, is a very important time for two people. When two people love each other, they commonly look forward to spending the rest of their lives together. They make a promise to God and each other to forever stay together. They embark on future with the hope of raising a family and growing old together. Life can be hard after marriage, and it often is, but the love and commitment that two people share can push the relationship past all the struggles. A marriage will not work without both partners being fully committed to each other. In Kate Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour”, marriage is seen through the eyes of an unhappy wife. The reader can see the misery caused when people are not honest with each other, and what can happen to a marriage built on a week foundation. One can also see that not only was Brently Mallards wife unhappy but that she kept her feelings hidden from everyone around her. When news arrived that Brently Mallard’s name was on a the list of people that where killed in a railroad accident, his wife took the news like anyone would suspect. But they were careful in telling her, because the reader quickly learns that she has medical problems.
