Do the elderly receive sufficient amounts of money from the state to survive on? Should any elderly people be made to pay for their care alone or should the state provide them with financial help whether they need it or not? ... My hypothesis is that elderly people receive are well looked after by the state, this essay will look into this and hope to prove this hypothesis. To collect the information for the following essay I collected information from Internet websites, a survey conducted amongst the Aberdonian public and an interview with an elderly woman. ... We asked 27 members of the public to answer five short questions so that we could get a better idea of their views on elderly benefits. ... Despite the fact that most people thought the pension to be less than it actually is only 11% thought the elderly are receiving a sufficient amount of money from the state with the rest of the people interviewed wishing for the pension to be raised.
