Modern Day Revelations from the Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon, with parts written over 2600 years ago, was compiled by ancient prophets, seers, and revelators who truly foresaw our day and our future. With the help and power of the Lord, those prophets wrote with inspiration, revealing things about our day, and days to come. The Book of Mormon talked of Christopher Columbus sailing to the American continent. ... By examining these five specific prophesies we can determine the authenticity of the book.
Six chapters into the Book of Mormon, we learn that this powerful book was not written specifically for Nephi and his people, nor does it contain “the things which are pleasing unto the world, but the things which are pleasing unto God. ... It reads:
And I looked and beheld a man among the Gentiles, who was separated from the      seed of my brethren by the many waters; and I beheld the Spirit of God, that it      came down and wrought upon the man; and he went forth upon the many waters,      even unto the seed of my brethren, who were in the promised land. ... In this written account, Christopher Columbus reiterates the vision Nephi had of the future inhabitants of this continent: “It was the Lord who put it into my mind, (I could feel His hand upon me), the fact that it would be possible to sail from here to the Indies. ... There is no question that the inspiration was from the Holy Spirit.” (Columbus’ Book of Prophesies italics added)
Many during Columbus’ time thought he was foolish, mocking him for his idea of sailing westward on a revolutionary idea that the world was not flat, but round. ... These many other multitudes, as it says in verse fourteen, are people from all nations, kindreds, and tongues.
