This paper is extremely difficult for me to write due to the fact that my professional life is going so well and my personal life is up side down with crisis after crisis. I believe that because of all these crisis? in my life I was able to find a profession that let me deal with them and help others at the same time, what I do today is very rewarding. Right now I am a paralegal. I have been a paralegal now since February of 2000. This was a major career change!!! I went from retail management to being a paralegal. How you ask, I am not quite sure. One day I was in my store in the Trumbull mall and decided I no longer wanted to be in retail. After 8 years of retail as a career and two college degrees later from MT. Ida in Newton, MA. (AA in Fashion Merchandising and a BS in Retail Management). I was going into the law. So I began to research my options and schools. Applied to Norwalk Community College (NCC), was accepted and went to school part time while still working at the mall. Once I received my first paralegal job in February 2000, I quit the mall. This was at the age of 30. Very hard to do. I thought this career move was a huge mistake at first, but I was happy for no more nights, weekends and holidays. The attorney I began working with was a sole practitioner in general practice. Besides him it was me. I had no idea what I was doing. I hadn?t even graduated yet from NCC yet. This job only lasted a very short time four months. But for the most part the rest of my career has been on the up.
