Sugar Baby We all, at some point, wish that we have other qualities in one self. Maybe to be good at things your friends are good at. But why do we want to become someone we`re not? Why can`t we just be the person we really are so we don`t become a total stranger within ourselves, just so you can peace other people? If Being perceft is our main concern we will come to the point where we become control freaks. Joe is married to Helen and together they have a child. Joe is very protective of this child and does`nt allow him to eat artificial colorants. He especially wants to protect him from Helen`s mother Jeannie who eats a lot of sugar so Joe is afraid that she also will feed his baby with sweets. Even though Joe and Helen had discussed this issue Helen still isn`t so protective as Joe. Joe is not only when it comes to his child a control freak. He wants everything to be perfect. He has even found a new group of friends, who feels the same way as Joe.: ”Saskia never asks for juice. She would`nt even know what juice was.” ( Page 2. L. 61) The fact that his new friends proudly says that their child does`nt even know what sweet things are affects Joe. He wants his child to be the way his friends expect him to be.
