The Christian attitude to punishment and forgiveness 1a) A year ago, two teenagers were found guilty of possessing and selling hard drugs to children. After a court hearing they were both punished for their crimes. They have been given permission to join the local youth club by the church. Do you agree with this decision? Show that you have thought about this matter from more than one point of view. This is a difficult situation, although you may want to forgive the two teenagers. You have to recognise that the sensible thing to do is prevent the situation from happening again, and some people may believe that the only way in preventing this and protecting others is to refuse them or wait a little longer until they have thought about the circumstances. I agree that they should be able to join the local youth centre.
