Diwali is the greatest of all Hindu festivals. It is celebrated for five days. The first day of Diwali is called Dhanteras. On this day prayers are offered to Goddess Laxmi. She brings wealth, heath, and prosperity. The second day is Naraka Chaturdashi. On this day Lord Krishna destroyed the evil King Narkasura. The third day is Diwali. On this day Lord Rama returned to his kingdom after destroying the wicked king of Lanka. The day of Diwali is also the last day of the Hindu year. On the fourth day, friends and family greet each other with “Happy New Year.” The fifth and last day of Diwali is called Bhaiya Duj.
