This book is about a high school girl named Adelle, which had recently moved away from Yorkshire, England to live with her mum. In Yorkshire, she had lived with her gran in a big old mansion left down from generations and attended a large co-ed school. But ever since her gran died she moved back down South and lived with her mum. There, she attended a school, which was small so she could have more individual attention, private because her dad believed expensive meant better and single-sex to avoid the ¡°boy trouble¡± which had happened in Yorkshire. Convinced she is fat, Adelle hates looking in mirrors because she hates seeing her podgy reflection. In school, she is isolated from everyone else which makes her having no friends except for a girl named Naomi. Naomi is a gushingly friendly girl that was assigned to take good care of Adelle on her first day of school. As six months had past Naomi was still happily trying to organize everything for Adelle and whilst Adelle had been grateful for the initial kindness, she¡¯d made it quite clear that she didn¡¯t want to get too involved, but Naomi took no notice of that and continued being a good friend.
