The purpose for the 2003 California recall debate was to give voters an insight to what the candidates stand for and, if elected, what the candidates would do to fix California’s problems. The debate gave voters a chance to ask questions to the candidates about important issues they want answered. Some of the many questions asked dealt with the recall, California’s top priority, enhancing revenue, vehicle license fee, and health care and immigrants.
