“A nation at risk”
In April of 1983, a study was put out regarding the status of America’s education system called “A nation at risk”. ... This report stated that at a time of economic hardship, America was falling into a position of mediocrity to the point that we as a nation could be surpassed by another nation of power. ... The report (“A nation still at risk”) states that America although not threatened as much by foreign competitors is still not in a good position education wise. ...
In my opinion, the “ nation at risk “ report as a well warranted study that looked at Americas complacency towards keeping ourselves as a leading nation. ... Our schools system were not (and in many ways is still not) giving the student all the knowledge that they needed to help bring our nation out of it’s than economic woes.
During the time of 1998 when the report “A nation still at risk” was produced, America was almost the opposite of its former self 15 years prior. ...
In my opinion, the two reports were both a grim look at our nation’s education system.
