Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone blends fantasy and humor while still being a realistic film that everyone can relate to and enjoy. Though my judgment may be clouded by my sincere love for all of the Harry Potter novels, I find this to be one of the world’s all time best movies and would go so far as to call it a modern day classic. ... These details, along with a score of others, make the film attractive to millions of people and explain the “Harry Potter Phenomena.”
      The superb and brilliant acting within Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is such a strong characteristic of the film that with just this detail the film would be worthwhile to watch. ... However, the three who most truthfully depict their respective characters are Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ronald Weasley), and Sir Richard Harris (Albus Dumbledore). ...
     Daniel Radcliffe, who portrays the lead character Harry Potter, was virtually unknown before his performance in the film. Radcliffe possesses not only the same physical qualities of Harry Potter, but also the genuine attitude of the fictional character. ...
     Radcliffe does a superb job of depicting the shy and awkward Harry present in the beginning of the film. One scene where Radcliffe demonstrates his skill is the scene where Hagrid comes to take young Harry from his evil aunt and uncle. All are terrified by the sight of the giant Hagrid, especially Harry as the gentle giant is searching for Potter. Radcliffe reveals himself from behind a wall and, with terror in his voice, stutters, “I…I’m Harry. ... The scene in monumental in the development of Potter’s character, revealing his hearts desire to be the simple want of having a family to call his own.
