One way that a story can develop its meaning is how it is told. From a different perspective you may get a totally different meaning from the same story. In "The Cask of Amontillado" by Edgar Allan Poe the point of view from which the story is told directly reflects the outcome. This is important because the meaning that Poe intended for the story comes out of the first person point of view in which it is told.
Edgar Allan Poes "The Cask of Amontillado" is told in the narrative, forst person point of view. This perspective is important in relating meaning to story telling because you get inside the main characters head, you know exactly what he thinks of the people he comes in contact with. ... The telling of this story allows you to see and know a lot more than if it was written in the third person.
