Religion in Schools
Religion in school is a major controversial topic among students and parents in public schools. Since it has created such a controversy, the government has created the Federal guidelines for religious expression in public schools. ... Some say that the Supreme Court has declared public schools “religious-free zones” or that the law is so murky that school officials can not know what is and what is not legally permissible. ... Students may be taught about religion, but public schools may not teach religion. ... ”
There are many Pros to teaching religion in public schools. If students were being taught religion in school, they could be better educated. ... If students were taught religion they would be able to understand the different types of religions that many people follow. There is a strong correlation between the expulsion of prayer from our schools and the decline in morality in our schools, therfore meaning that the violence in our schools has been steadily increasing over the years. If religion is taught in schools, it could lower the violence.
